John T. Simpson, Jr.
John
T. Simpson, Jr., received his Bachelor's degree in Political
Science from Stephen F. Austin State University
in 1992 after
only three years of study. He then graduated from
South Texas
College of Law in 1995 after two and one-half years.
In law
school, he distinguished himself as an Associate
Editor of the
Law Review and recipient of the Teresa Stanton Collett
writing
award.
Following
law school, Mr. Simpson was an attorney with O'Quinn,
Kerensky, McAninch & Laminack specializing in
plaintiff's toxic
tort litigation. Subsequently, he became a partner
with Lamson &
Looney, P.C., practicing plaintiff's personal
injury and civil
litigation. On March 1, 2002, he formed Simpson
& Ruiz, P.C.,
with Cynthia Ruiz, specializing in plaintiff's
personal injury and civil
litigation.
He
is a member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association
(2002 Committee Chair of the Teen Court program),
Texas Trial
Lawyers Association and State Bar of Texas.
His publications
include Discovery of Net Worth in Bifurcated
Punitive Damages
Cases: A Suggested Approach Following Transportation
Company v. Moriel, S.TEX.L.REV. (January 1996). He
is licensed
to practice in all Texas courts and the United
States District Court
for the Southern District of Texas.
